Cary Art Loop’s Final Fridays highlights Triangle arts & culture in the Cary area offering extended hours for participating art galleries, restaurants, coffee houses and other businesses that showcase visual arts, music and more! Kate Lagaly, Medium: Watercolor

Kate Lagaly’s art exhibition will include artwork from several of her recent series. Lagaly works in a variety of mediums. The show will include work in watercolor, colored pencil, pencil, gouache, acrylic and mixed media. Subject matter will include people, plants and animals.

In “Journey to The Good Life,” artist Kulsum Tasnif tells the story of migrants and refugees in various phases of their journeys. Through the use of cultural patterns, illustrations, Arabic calligraphy and audio accounts (only during reception), her work strives to connect the audience with the universal human struggle of loss, pain and the basic need for survival.

Amanda El Jaouhari: Soulful Strangers, Medium: Photography

Personally connecting with the subjects of her street portraits, Amanda El Jaouhari transitions from observer to participant in “Soulful Strangers.” Challenging ideas of race, gender and socioeconomic status by photographing the essence of what it means to be human, the soul, the artist invites you to see yourself in the reflections of others.

Celebrate the joy of nature with striking landscape and nature images by New York and Cary nature photographer Michael Weitzman. His work can be found in many private collections, and several of his pieces have been acquired for permanent display in patient rooms by Duke Hospital.
