Summer is ending, so how about a cocktail on a rooftop bar?

It’s already September, which means Summer ’17 is coming to an end. How has the year flown by so fast? We’ve barely had time to enjoy some pretty good weather at some pretty good local rooftop bars. It’s time for a cocktail.

(There’s other bars without rooftops worth checking out, too.)

So here’s what we suggest: stop by these three rooftop bars and try these cocktails. There’s no better way to wind down on the weekends (or weekdays!).

Rooftops for a cocktail:

Level 7 | Raleigh

Level 7, located inside North Carolina’s first AC Hotel, is on the east side of Six Forks Road near the Captrust office center at North Hills. It opened during the spring and serves handcrafted cocktails, Spanish wine and local beer and liquor from Raleigh Brewing Company and Raleigh Rum Company. And yes, There also will be tapas-style small bites. We’re kinda into their Grapefruit Spritz (Dixie Vodka, St. Germaine, Q Grapefruit Soda, Aperol, Rosemary)…

The Durham | Downtown Durham

When you have a James Beard Award winner for a chef, it typically means the food is on point. That’s the case for the restaurant at The Durham — which was the N&O’s restaurant of the year — and it bleeds over into the cocktail menu. We fancy the Airmail, made with rum, honey lime and prosecco. But sometimes it’s good switch it up, so a go-to could be the Sunset Park (strawberry infused rum, yzaguirre vermouth and pistachio oil).

The Unscripted Hotel | Downtown Durham

The old Jack Tar Motor Lodge in Durham was turned into a swanky, mid-century modern hotel over the summer. The Unscripted Hotel, complete with rooftop pool, definitely made a big splash and has been a favorite spot for happy hours, birthday celebrations and quick stops during the Third Friday Art Walk. And ordering the Mighty Mojito just makes sense when sitting poolside.
