“Family Tree” is a nod to the historical tradition of handcrafting and personal remembrances of mosaic artist Jeannette Brossart’s grandfather. The works, or unique assemblies, are a combination of traditional mosaics and reclaimed wooden materials from her late grandfather’s workshop using skills and traditions both inherited and reimagined.
Alternative Images: In Conjunction with the Click! Photography Festival

Pleiades Gallery in Durham presents “Alternative Images: In conjunction with the Click! Photography Festival.” See how the Pleiades Artists, each working in their own media, explore this concept. Most of them are not photographers. Pleiades Arts, Inc. is an artist-driven, community-oriented nonprofit organization in Durham, NC. Our mission is threefold: Community Engagement and Access to Art, Arts Education and Innovation, and Social Justice Initiatives.

Proxemic Media’s Third Friday Durham Dance Series
Empower Dance Studio, 109 W Parrish St.
Third Friday event: 8 and 9 p.m.

Proxemic Media presents the second annual Third Friday Durham Dance Series this fall at Empower Dance Studio. The series presents an opportunity for visitors and locals to experience modern dance being created regionally.

This first month showcases two local dance companies, A+A and OM grown dancers, paired for their unique manifestations of athleticism, dynamic movement vocabulary and polished technique.
