Last week marked the grand opening of the UNEXPOSED Microcinema in downtown Durham. UNEXPOSED is an experimental film program launched by brothers Jeremy and Brendan Smyth about two years ago. After floating around various venues during that time, it has now found a permanent home on Hood Street. UNEXPOSED will focus each month on five filmmakers from a specific region, showing a different selection of films by each artist every Friday of the month.
The January filmmakers hail from New England. The first show, A Call To Persevere, was curated by Anna Kipervaser and contained nine short films. Photographer Beth Mann visited UNEXPOSED to check it out. See the photos below.
