Snapshots: 31st Annual Lenoir Sculpture Celebration

ArtsNow was at the 31st Annual Lenoir Sculpture Celebration earlier this month. It was a beautiful sunny day outside at the Broyhill Walking Park, the picturesque site of the world class show. Lenoir is located in the Foothills of North Carolina, 20 miles south of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Boone.

The Caldwell County Arts Council hosts the annual event, with sculptors from all over North Carolina and surrounding states. Judge Elizabeth “Lee” Kelley is the curator of fine art collection development and management for the Chicago Transit Authority. She works directly with artists in the purchase or commission of site-specific artwork for public spaces, transit facilities and private collections. Kelley had the tough job of judging the works, with over $10,000 dollars worth of prizes awarded. See below for the full list of winners:
