A few things to do in the Triangle this (long) weekend

Festivals and fireworks — oh, my. It’s not Independence Day without them. From Festival at Eno to parades (Raleigh, Wendell and more) to brew house shenanigans (Deep River, Oak City Brewing Co., etc.) to fireworks to First Friday, there’s plenty to do around town to get your patriotic party game on.

Keep RLGH Independent 4 Miler

Nothing says ‘Merica like brews, burgers and blowing stuff up — great combo — but before you get your freedom-ringing on, you can pound the pavement with the Keep Raleigh Independent 4 Miler @ Dorothea Dix with Runologie. Post-race brews at Trophy gives you a head start on the rest of the day’s fun. $30+

Midtown Beach Music Series

If you didn’t get to spend your 4th bummin’ on the beach, all is not lost. Shag your way over to North Hills for the weekly Midtown Beach Music Series (Weekly, Thursday night) for some beach music a la Steve Owens
& Summertime. Bonus, it might not be as crowded as usual for the holiday week so maybe you can spread out and dance like no one’s watching.

Where’s Waldo?

Where’s Waldo? No really — now’s your chance to take a stab at the endless wonder at the Where’s Waldo Shop Local Scavenger Hunt. So you can take part in the legendary hunt while simultaneously browsing Raleigh’s best local wares. Win-win. Oh, and there’s prizes. Win-win-win. Through July 29.

Outdoor movies

Keep it outdoors with a little under-the-stars magic via a flick at NCMA’s Outdoor Summer movie series with a showing of “Darkest Hour” (Friday, 9 p.m.) and “The Post” (Saturday, 9 p.m.).
